DO-ARTIST OPERA CARNIVALE #1
The DO-Artist "Opera Carnivale" was introduced at Opera Night with an invitation to "DO" a costume within the theme of Opera and Art for yourself or someone else to wear at the annual Cow Harbor Day festivities, September 21st a Sunday, day after the Cow Harbor 10 K Run!There are no fees, forms, rules, age limits, sign-ups, nor competency levels! IT'S PERFORMANCE ART!Just a whole lot of fun for opera loving artists who have little chance to wear their art work — for a guaranteed audience of thousands even if it is on the street— happy and very LOUD— like this video! See you on the streets at Cow Harbor Day thanks to Opera Night who helped give birth to a great idea!NOTE: The theme of DO-Art Poster for the video is Vincent Van Gogh's Portrait of Postman Joseph Roulin, and the opera The Postman Always Rings Twice is an interpretation of a 1981 film adaptation of a novel by James M. Cain. The opera, 1982, is based on a screenplay by David Mamet and directed by Bob Rafelson, starred Jack Nicholson and Jessica Lange. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T... gives birth to new art!Got poster? Make poster? Dress up — or no costume — you can concoct a fictional character to star in your own poster! Send JPEG when its done to dojoro@optonlne.net for the DO-Art Poster Collection video in September.A DO-Artist is one who identifies with other independent DO-Artists sending the message that he or she is a lover of all the finest when seen sketching in the park, drawing a portrait of a shop owner, painting a scene of Northport, filming, photographing, orating on the grandstand, singing an aria on a boat, playing the violin at the end of the dock, or showing an art work at a local restaurant!

I just watched a Fellini film yesterday (AMARCORD), and your figures remind me of the characters!

Artists will simply wear a costume that represents Opera and Art. No signing up required. Just show up on Main Street on Cow Harbor Day, September 21st 2008, 12 noon. If it rains... then show up at Opera Night in your costume!

Nice video. Will people sign up and participate? Come down to Opera Night on May 2, and you'll get some great ideas.
