Oh dear, it looks like that method for setting the poster didn't work. I've noticed though that Quicktime has a menu option to "Set the Poster Frame". I wonder if setting it there would work for YouTubes?

Plus, YT would need an additional complaints interface where you could report inappropriate preview pics -- right now, an inappropriate preview pic can only come from an inappropiate video. You have to choose your profile picture from one of your video previews for just that reason (or so I assume). I think PJS1987 has the ideal solution.

I agree that a little more freedom in choosing the preview pic couldn't hurt. But in a way, you have shown us right now what would happen if people could put in a freely chosen jpg: We'd get lots of videos where the preview wouldn't relate to the actual content at all, because people would use any sort of shocking picture in order to promote their videos. I had also noticed that too, Renetto. I had an idea that maybe YouTube could add the option of allowing one to choose the exact time (frame) of their video to use as their movie poster. Similar to your idea of uploading a jpeg, gif, ect., except this would eliminate people from uploading a movie poster that has nothing to do with the video.

Thank you for the helpful tip! Renetto, is there any way you could make a video using your regular voice? Since you're making a fresh start -n- all :^)
