Bill Evans transcription off his 1969 album "Alone". Bill Evans remains my number one influence. This is one of the most difficult pieces of music that I have ever played, and to think that Bill Evans sat down and improvised the entire tune on the spot - incredible. I can't even begin to attempt to capture what he did on this recording. I feel like I'm just barely keeping my head above water while playing this.

Nice job on this one. I started transcribing it by ear about a year ago, but I stopped at the beginning of the second time through in the solo section where the texture gets really thick. When I saw you playing it and reading music, I began searching for the transcription. I found it. Thanks for the inspiration. Peace.

where did you get the transcription? i figured out one chorus but it's so time consuming. the only solo of his i ever fully transcribed was autumn leaves.

Fantastic job, man. I think I've heard Jean Yves-Thibaudet do the same transcription and yours is just as good.

I think that the ideal of transcribig is not only getting the right notes but the dinamics, and timbres as well

Actually, I did transcribe this piece in college but only got about half way through it before peetering out (lots of notes!). Recently, I bought the published transcription, and that is what I am using to record this.

Very very nice. Did you do the transcription?

Oh, I absolutely agree with your parallel. It is a parallel that I have been correlating for years, having rooted the first ten years of my musical training in classical music. Its rare that I find a transcription (not done by myself, of course) that is accurate. But when I do, it takes on the characteristics of a classical piece that is to be performed specifically to the transcription itself. I thoroughly enjoy improvising, but I also enjoy performing these transcribed pieces as well.
