Posters, Collecting Or Just Enjoying Your Poster
When did the humble poster first become popular with interior decorator, home decorators and collectors? Yes, posters are something we take for granted today. If a wall in your home, office or workplace, needs decorating and brightening then most of us look first to what is available in posters. This started quite some time back and now has become the norm. There is such a wide variety of posters available that we can find one to suit whatever theme or style of decorating we choose.
Poster collectors have emerged too. People choose to collect posters on movie themes, sports themes, music, vintage, fine art and lots more.
Because of the popularity of posters some have become more valuable than others and so these are sort after by the collectors. Any posters about old movies, the actual ones used to advertise the movie at the theater for popular classic old movies, these have become very valuable in some instances as these posters were normally returned to the movie distributor. Because of this many of them have become rare. There are copies of them but the originals will fetch a fine price at auctions. That is if you can find them.
Still on movie posters, some actors have become very collectible. Back in the 70s there was a Farrah Fawcett poster that has become a classic and still holds the title of best seller. Bruce Lee poseter are another that sold very well.

Don’t Bypass Famous Art
If there is a famous painting that you have always wanted to own, the original is way out of reach and even a copy or print is still beyond your price range, go check it out as a poster. Find a classic old frame you can refurbish, have it framed and there is your masterpiece, hanging in pride of place over your mantle. Your cost, compared to the original or reproduction, almost nothing.

Posters are used for advertising, that is how most of them came into being. Some of the advertising campaigns have become classics too, so the posters for these campagns have become collectible items. There are collectible advertising posters on products such as, beer, soft drinks, cars, etc as well as travel locations. The travel posters often have wonderful scenes of faraway places and the colors are fantastic.
